Claude attended school and graduated from Marquette High School in 1915. He was a Mason, receiving his 50 year pin in 1976. He graduated from the American Institute of Banking. Claude started as a bookkeeper at the Bank Of Phillips, Nebraska in June 1915, where he worked for two years. He obtained employment at Farmers State Bank, Marquette, Nebraska in 1917, becoming assistant cashier and finally cashier of that bank; he left in 1925 when he married Rosa Schlentz of David City, Nebraska and moved to Long Beach, California, obtaining employment with the Marine Trust and Savings Bank as a bookkeeper. This bank later was purchased by the Bank Of Italy and he was appointed a branch manager. This bank later became Bank Of America.
His first wife, Rosa died in January 1926. He spent eight years in Long Beach, California starting the Belmont Shore Branch, after which he was appointed manager of the San Clemente branch where he and his new wife Louise lived until 1936 when he was transferred to Compton branch as manager and worked there for twenty-eight years and retired on March 1, 1963 as Assistant Vice-President. In February 1970 he and Louise moved to their home in El Toro, California. Claude passed away in El Toro on November 6, 1982.
Claude married Rosa SCHLENTZ, daughter of P.N. SCHLENTZ and Mrs. P.N. SCHLENTZ, in Sep 1925. (Rosa SCHLENTZ was born in Of David City, Nebraska, died in Jan 1926 in California and was buried in David City, Nebraska.)
